About The Course
This course provided me with a comprehensive understanding of data analytics and machine learning concepts, techniques, and algorithms. It emphasized practical applications, such as creating predictive models, deploying them, and visualizing their outputs. Collaborating with HungryHub, a leading dining platform in Thailand, offered a unique opportunity to apply these skills in a real-world context. By leveraging data analytics and machine learning techniques, we analyzed the company’s key operations to uncover valuable insights. These insights guided the development of actionable, data-driven strategies to enhance HungryHub's operational efficiency and overall competitiveness. This whole experience equipped us with the knowledge and skills to address complex challenges in Thailand's dynamic business landscape, bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical application.
Reflection
Before embarking on this trip, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect—whether it would be all about work or if there’d be time to enjoy the journey. The uncertainty was nerve-wracking, but the trip turned out to be a perfect blend of surprises, challenges, and joyful moments. Highlights included learning to cook tom yum from scratch—surprisingly, it was tasty—and cycling aimlessly around Ko Kret Island in search of a pottery spot. Although we never found it, the scenic ride, laughter, and discovery of a hidden gem selling delicious ice cream for just 20 baht made it an adventure to remember. Even the simplest moments, like impromptu supper runs to 7-11 and movie nights, became cherished memories filled with laughter and bonding.
Thailand truly lives up to its reputation as the "Land of Smiles." The locals’ warmth and friendliness, combined with the exceptional hospitality of the people from Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM), left a lasting impression. From patiently sharing Thailand’s rich history and culture to guiding us through landmarks under the blazing sun, their kindness and enthusiasm made the experience unforgettable.
While it may seem like our trip was more about leisure than work, the reality was quite the opposite. One of the greatest challenges we faced was striking a balance between tackling project demands and exploring Bangkok’s vibrant culture. Midway through the trip, we had to adapt our solutions to meet new requirements, which added an extra layer of complexity. Tight deadlines required focused and efficient work sessions, yet taking breaks to immerse ourselves in the city helped re-energize us and provided fresh perspectives. This experience taught us valuable lessons in time management and the importance of staying adaptable when navigating unexpected changes.
Nevertheless, this trip wouldn’t have been the same without my incredible teammates. Their unwavering support, innovative ideas, and tireless efforts turned obstacles into opportunities for growth. Beyond the work, their constant chatter, infectious energy, and shared moments of joy made this journey truly unforgettable—an experience I’ll cherish forever."
