Digital Transformation for SME Partners
How should SMEs transform in this VUCA world and take advantage of technology to stay ahead of the curve? Fuji Xerox Singapore (FXS) collaborated with Singapore Management University (SMU) in a SMU-X project to create differentiated solutions that aim to address the key pain points of SMEs FXS partners with in the insurance, education and healthcare sectors.
Adjunct Faculty from School of Information Systems Wong Yuet Nan, Annie Ng and 42 SMU undergraduates in a Digital Transformation Strategy class brainstormed for innovative ideas from Jan to Apr 2020. Their proposals leverage on FXS core competencies to provide integrative solutions to their partners. Two ideas caught the attention of FXS CEO who attended an online presentation together with other senior management team members. FXS is exploring the implementation of these ideas next.The digital transformation proposals were well-received by FXS as they were “clear, concise, practical and well thought out.” They are well-balanced with the business strategies and financial structures clearly presented.
"The prototype demonstration nailed the idea clearly and illustrated business potential for Fuji Xerox in the immediate 1-3 years term. Not only did the team developed a creative offering in the industry, it also helped to generate 3 levels of revenue stream that was cleverly thought out.” Ms Adeline Goh (Director, Enterprise Business Operations) remarked.
Ms Jacely Voon, General Manager, People, Culture & CSR and Ms Goh shared “Textbooks can prescribe business basics, but being able to uncover and present the very real challenges that our customers face in their business environment is certainly no mean feat. These students have not only proven themselves to be resourceful, they have also provided us with a refreshed interpretation of how our organisation can generate greater value for our customers through their force of innovation and creativity."
