Project Outcomes

Using cutting-edge AI tools, 37 SMU-X students embarked on a unique learning journey, crafting impactful video stories highlighting Singtel's contribution to digital inclusion. This initiative, a collaboration between SMU and leading marketing and communications network Publicis Groupe, aimed to equip students with the skills and experience necessary to excel in the future of creative work.

The 13-week SMU-X course "Storytelling for Organisations and Brands" served as the platform for this innovative program. Through a dedicated workshop, students delved into the world of AI-powered storytelling, exploring tools like Runway Gen2, Meta AudioCraft, ChatGPT, and more. This exposure challenged them to conceptualize and create engaging narratives and characters, applying their knowledge to a real-world client project.

The top 10 films were showcased in a mini film festival at SMU on November 8th, 2023. Professor Chong emphasized the importance of embracing new technologies and taking risks, highlighting the role of Singtel in encouraging a new generation of creators. Five outstanding students were awarded internships for their exceptional work and by equipping students with the necessary skills and hands-on experience, this program paved the way for a generation of creators ready to embrace AI and unlock its boundless potential.
