What you envision for your area(s) of interest in the SMU-X program?
The SMU-X programme has been extremely meaningful and productive in the helping to solve real-world healthcare challenges. The projects deal with actual problems faced in the healthcare system. The effective delivery of the project outcomes can provide stakeholders with the confidence in the ability of SMU students to deliver results.
The SMU-X programme has brought to awareness important problems that the healthcare system is facing. Smart health can significantly benefit both LMICs and more developed countries like Singapore. The ability to translate research and academic knowledge into real-world solutions will enable the transformation of the health sector both locally and globally.
By bringing in real-world projects, solutions can be developed to solve the most current problems. Projects are challenging as a multitude of stakeholders are usually involved. Students would also have to develop solutions, fail fast and learn fast in order to be successful in these projects. The engagement with stakeholders who are deeply concerned with the projects will allow students to have first-hand experiences in solving real-world problems.
Hopefully through each SMU-X project journey, students will be able to forge life-long bonds with fellow project mates, develop their track record in the industry and foster valuable relationships with the industry practitioners.
