SMU Recognises the Value of a Global Experience.
Welcome to SMU-X Overseas, a transformative extension of SMU's industry project-based experiential learning programme. SMU-X Overseas broadens the horizons of our students by offering unique opportunities to engage with global communities, industries, and real-world challenges outside Singapore. This programme is designed to prepare our students to become global citizens who can navigate and address complex issues in an interconnected world.
Our projects span a wide range of sectors, including sustainability, social innovation, business development, technology, and more. Students work in multidisciplinary teams to address real-world issues faced by our international partners, which include businesses, non-profits, and governmental organizations.
In SMU-X Overseas, students collaborate closely with local communities and experts, fostering a deeper understanding of different cultures, business practices, and societal needs. Apart from the Singapore segment where students attend lessons and conduct secondary research, the one to two-week cultural immersion at the finale of the course is an invaluable component of the learning experience, helping students develop a global perspective and cultural sensitivity.
